Although Round Top is a small community of 90 residents it has a bank, ATM, several year-around restaurants, shops, gas stations, and churches. The Town Square itself is a center of activity and walking distance to numerous show venues and food vendors.
This epicenter of field show sites, Warrenton lines both sides of SH-237 south of Round Top. It has a single combination gas station, grocery store and post office. Between the shows it's about the only thing you'll find open.
A small community of 299 people located on SH-290 halfway between Houston and Austin. Along 290 the community has restaurants, gas stations, antique stores, and a small market. Off the highway on Spur 458 (the connector between SH-290 and SH-237) there is a bank with an ATM, hardware store, Lutheran Church and several B&B's. At the "Y" (Spur 458 at SH-237) there are several show sites.
A small community of 299 people located on SH-290 between Carmine and Brenham in Washington County. Burton is the home of the historic Burton Cotton Gin museum which is open to the public. There are a few restaurants and B&B's located in and around Burton.
County seat of Fayette County with a population of 4,500. The charming Town Square features a newly restored County Courthouse surrounded by restaurants and shops. La Grange has multiple gas stations, churches, St. Marks Hospital, and a new Super Wal-Mart.
A small community of 260 people. Fayetteville has a charming town square with a historic precinct courthouse, restaurants, art galleries, shops, antique stores, gas stations, bank, ATM, Catholic, Lutheran and Brethren Churches and a show site on the square.
Small Austin County community of approximately 300 people located at the intersection of SH-159 and FM-109. Industry boast the Lindemann Store with gas station, grocery, hardware and tack. Industry State Bank has an ATM. Several churches and a lumber yard.
The largest of the area communities with 16,000+ residents. Brenham has all types of accommodations, restaurants, services, Lowes, Home Depot, Starbucks, Wal-Mart Supercenter, banks, movie theater, day spa, and is the home of Texas' famous Blue Bell Ice Cream (open for tour on weekdays).
Located on IH-10 at SH-77, Schulenburg has a population of over 2,800. Gas stations, hotels, motels, B&B's, restaurants, shops, grocery stores and banks can all be found here.
Population 4,000+ and county seat of Austin County, 60 miles from Houston. Bellville offers accommodations, restaurants (including a Chinese restaurant), service businesses and banks.
Over 3,800 people call Smithville home in Bastrop County. With easy access to SH-71 it has lots of restaurants, B&B's, gas stations, banks, antique shops, and grocery stores. It's also the filming location for the movie "Hope Floats" staring Sandra Bullock.
Located on IH-10 at SH-95, Flatonia has a population of over 1,300. Gas stations, hotels, motels, B&B's, restaurants, shops, grocery stores and banks can all be found here.
With a population over 3,600, Columbus is the county seat of Colorado County. At the intersection of IH-10 and SH-71. The charming Courthouse Square has shops and banks. The community has several restaurants and motels near IH-10, a Wal-Mart, two grocery stores and many churches.
Although one of the towns furthest from the show sites, Bastrop boast easy access from Austin-Bergstrom airport, with easy access onto SH-71 to SH-159/237 which leads directly to most shows. Bastrop is a larger city, over 7,300 population, with lots of accommodations of all types, restaurants, shops, gas stations, grocery stores and other service businesses.
